In MCBMUN our organizing team is more like a family. You should really get to know them:

Daniel Williams  Secretary General

I started MUNing in my first year at MCB, and have since attended nine conferences as a delegate, and two as a chair.

Outside MUN my main interests are photography and physics. If I’m not carrying a ridiculously large book on some obscure topic in physics, or peering at Jupiter through a telescope then I’ll have a camera hanging around my neck. I am easily bribed – try Wine Gums or liquorice.
My best ever MUN moment was presenting the operative clauses of a resolution on climate change, whilst representing North Korea. The presidents of GA had edited it slightly, but left it obvious what it had said... I seem to remember it was something about what would happen to countries which didn't cut CO2 output.
I look forward to meeting you all during the conference; it will be my last MCBMUN, so I hope it goes with a bang.
Previous Conferences: MCBMUN X, MCBMUN IX, MCBMUN VIII, MCBMUN VII, MCBJMUN 2004, MCBXMUN 2004, MCBJMUN 2005, GWCMUN I Chairing: MCBMUN XI (SciTech), WCDMUN 2009(EcoSoc).

Edward Nickell President of the General Assembly

Edward Nickell

This feels like some sort of MUN dating service. Has to like long walks, romance and points of order... the false grey effect that seems to have been used seems to give me a flattering tan too. But if you are able to recognise me from the deliberately 'fun' photo, you might have seen me over the last 6 years at MCBMUN, GWCMUN, MUNCH, SGSMUN or WCDMUN. However, over the last two years I've gone into that social recluse called Security Council. Wanting to escape my annual weekend of isolation I asked Mr Foster if I could have a "bigger committee" to chair this year. He seems to have taken this request quite seriously, giving me the biggest committee of all, a GA of 300+ delegates. I dabble in technical work (ie: setting up projectors, pointing out things that don't work on Daniel's new fangled website) as well as occasionally interfering with the press and admin. I don't accept bribes, but I happen to like chocolate (especially cookies/brownies) and delegates who give such gifts coincidentally get to speak. Other than MUN I also play piano and violin, the latter of which I'll be playing in a concert the same night as lobbying so might not be able to hang around after lobbying. I'll be around the rest of the conference though, and perhaps some of you will be lucky enough to be graced by my presence

Health Committee

Mia Murphy Head Chair, Health Committee

I have attended Methody's own MUN since first year participating in 5 as a delegate (usually in the health/ecology committee) and thoroughly enjoyed chairing Human rights last year and look forward to the experience again soon at MCBMUN XII as Head Chair of health.

I have taken part in number of international conferences including Cheadle Hulme, Stockport, Bath and Milan.

Other than MUN my interests include Art, drama and other typical female things such as shopping and makeup ^^ I am greatly looking forward to our fun awards such as best dressed and am a great lover of note-passing during debate, especially when a scandal arises(!)

And don't forget...bribery is the best policy ;)

Society and Ecology

Carla Greeves Chair, Society and Ecology

I started MUN in my third year at MCB, helping out as both security and admin. Although I liked them very much, (especially when I caught a kid on the back of his jumper as he attempted to escape the emergency debate), recently I felt like being more respected and becoming more involved, and so I became a delegate, and this year I attended the MUNCH conference in Manchester, which I enjoyed immensely. Now that I am a chair, I think I have gained a pretty good and thorough picture of MUN as a whole.
Outside MUN my main interests are classical guitar (I despise theory though!), St John Ambulance and reading manga (I’m not a dork, I like the pictures...). I am particularly looking forward to bribes as I have only received them once as an admin from a particularly kind delegate. (Anything chocolate will be MUCH appreciated.)
I have nothing more to say except welcome, and have a great time!!

Political

Medbh Campbell Chair, Political Committee

I've been involved in MUN since I came to Methody, but given that I only moved here in 2007, I'm not quite as experienced as that makes me sound. My main interests include physics, maths and music (the latter means that, unfortunately, I won't be there on the Thursday). Bribery won't work on me (probably), but reverse bribery will as I have been known to hold grudges against those who mock my hair (there is absolutely nothing wrong with ginger) or my accent (it's confused enough already as to whether it's English with a hint of Belfast or with an after-taste of Australian, so leave it alone).

Security Council

Lisa Murphy Deputy President of Security Council

Hi, I'm Lisa Murphy and this year I'll be chairing the debate on maritime piracy for security council. I've been doing MUN ever since I won best delegate way back in first year, and since have participated in conferences all over. Otherwise, I do a lot of acting and dancing, and, to Mr.Fosters huge disappointment, I am always tied up with constant music rehearsals. Technically the mature boys and girls of the security council shouldn't really be bothering with the whole bribe thing, but I do love my 'retro' sweets ;) (we're talking rainbow drops and sherbet space invaders). Next year I really hope to go to Scotland to do medicine, so if anyone is from around that part of the country please come say hiya :)

Human Rights

Vicky MalinovaHuman Rights
When I was in my first year at MCB my older sister and her friends pretty much dragged me into doing MUN. I enjoyed it so much that I have been involved in it every year since, as a delegate, admin and chairing the economic committee last year. I have only been to one conference abroad, which was MUNCH a few years back. I accept all bribes (within reason…) and I am looking forward to the conference.

Outside MUN I enjoy perving/flirting and maths. Hoping to go to university to do aeronautical engineering and work for the RAF or NASA (high hope, I know). Unlike most chairs this year I’m not musical in the least, although I wish I was (it would get me out of some pretty boring classes). I do love listening to people playing piano.

Charlotte Higgins

Ciao, I’m Charlotte. I’ve been involved with MUN since first year, been chairing for three years, and have been to conferences at Eton, Stockport and Cheadle Hulme, as well as a couple of others. I’m going to be diplomatic and say that I loved them all equally.

I’m in L6 at MCB, studying English, French, History and Latin. Outside of MUN, I love almost-everything-about-English, Diet Coke, photography, and spending all my free time on drama! I do a lot of music, although I mostly play the clarinet, and I speak French (ou presque).

I’m obviously not open to bribes… But if I was, I’d very much appreciate some Diet Coke, any kind of chocolate, or something cool/clever on a piece of paper. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at the conference, and (strangely enough) to spending a weekend with our crazy, dysfunctional ‘MUN organising family’.
