In MCBMUN our organizing team is more like a family. You should really get to know them:

Edward Nickell Secretary General

Edward Nickell

This feels like some sort of MUN dating service. My sort of delegate has to like long walks, romance and points of order... the sepia greytone effect on my photo gives me a falsely flattering tan. If the deception isn't as good as I'd hoped, you might be recognising me from over the last 7 years at MCBMUN, GWCMUN, MUNCH, SGSMUN or WCDMUN. However, over the last two years I've gone into that social recluse called Security Council. Wanting to escape my annual weekend of isolation I asked Mr Foster if I could have a "bigger committee" to chair last year. He seemed to take this request quite literally, giving me the biggest committee of all, a GA of 300+ delegates.

I dabble in technical work (ie: setting up projectors, pointing out things that don't work on this website and occaisionally writing on my own) as well as occasionally interfering with the press and admin. I don't accept bribes, but I happen to like chocolate (especially cookies/brownies) and delegates who give such gifts coincidentally get to speak more than others. Other than MUN I also play piano and violin, not very well, but very loudly.

Charlotte Higgins

Ciao, I’m Charlotte. I’ve been involved with MUN since first year, been chairing for three years, and have been to conferences at Eton, Stockport and Cheadle Hulme, as well as a couple of others. I’m going to be diplomatic and say that I loved them all equally.

I’m in L6 at MCB, studying English, French, History and Latin. Outside of MUN, I love almost-everything-about-English, Diet Coke, photography, and spending all my free time on drama! I do a lot of music, although I mostly play the clarinet, and I speak French (ou presque).

I’m obviously not open to bribes… But if I was, I’d very much appreciate some Diet Coke, any kind of chocolate, or something cool/clever on a piece of paper. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at the conference, and (strangely enough) to spending a weekend with our crazy, dysfunctional ‘MUN organising family’.

SciTech

Medbh Campbell Head Chair, SciTech Committee

I've been involved in MUN since I came to Methody, but given that I only moved here in 2007, I'm not quite as experienced as that makes me sound. My main interests include physics, maths and music (the latter means that, unfortunately, I won't be there on the Thursday). Bribery won't work on me (probably), but reverse bribery will as I have been known to hold grudges against those who mock my hair (there is absolutely nothing wrong with ginger) or my accent (it's confused enough already as to whether it's English with a hint of Belfast or with an after-taste of Australian, so leave it alone).

Human Rights

Vicky Malinova Head Chair, Human Rights

When I was in my first year at MCB my older sister and her friends pretty much dragged me into doing MUN. I enjoyed it so much that I have been involved in it every year since, as a delegate, admin and chairing the economic committee last year. I have only been to one conference abroad, which was MUNCH a few years back. I accept all bribes (within reason…) and I am looking forward to the conference.

Outside MUN I enjoy perving/flirting and maths. Hoping to go to university to do aeronautical engineering and work for the RAF or NASA (high hope, I know). Unlike most chairs this year I’m not musical in the least, although I wish I was (it would get me out of some pretty boring classes). I do love listening to people playing piano.

Daniel Williams  Website Administrator, Former Secretary General

I started MUNing in my first year at MCB, and have since attended nine conferences as a delegate, and two as a chair.

Outside MUN my main interests are photography and physics. If I’m not carrying a ridiculously large book on some obscure topic in physics, or peering at Jupiter through a telescope then I’ll have a camera hanging around my neck. I am easily bribed – try Wine Gums or liquorice.
My best ever MUN moment was presenting the operative clauses of a resolution on climate change, whilst representing North Korea. The presidents of GA had edited it slightly, but left it obvious what it had said... I seem to remember it was something about what would happen to countries which didn't cut CO2 output.
I look forward to meeting you all during the conference; it will be my last MCBMUN, so I hope it goes with a bang.
Previous Conferences: MCBMUN X, MCBMUN IX, MCBMUN VIII, MCBMUN VII, MCBJMUN 2004, MCBXMUN 2004, MCBJMUN 2005, GWCMUN I Chairing: MCBMUN XI (SciTech), WCDMUN 2009(EcoSoc).
