The MUN conference is spread over three days.
Day 1 - Lobbying
Day 2 - Three Committee Debates
Day 3 - General Assembly Debates
Each debate has a very specific form;
Reading of the Operative Clauses - The submitting country reads the operative clauses. Points of information may be addressed to them.
Time for the Resolution - Co-submitting countries and any other country wishing to speak for the amendment may take the floor.
Time Against the Resolution - Countries wishing to speak against the amendment may take the floor.
Time For Amendments - Time is taken for the discussion of amendments submitted by delegates. This time is divided between time for and against each amendment, followed by voting.
Time Against the Resolution - Generally a single speaker against the resolution as a whole (amended) will take the floor.
Time For the Resolution - Generally a single speaker for the resolution as a whole (amended) will take the floor.
During the debate there will often be at least one caucus.
