Once your school has made its application to attend the conference, and it has been accepted, your advisor will receive an email detailing the country or countries which have been assigned to you, and the committees on which the country is represented. This email will also contain a unique 'key' for each position, which is explained further down this page.

Deciding who to represent, and where

The first thing you'll need to do is to get together as a group, and decide among yourselves who is best suited to represent each country and committee. It is important that you choose a committee which you're happy with, because you'll need to do plenty of research, and be confident representing your country's views on that committee.

Signing-up on the website

The next step involves you signing up on the MCBMUN website. This allows you to keep up to date with news and announcements from you committee, submit your position papers, and allows us to collect information we need to run the conference. When you have registered for an account you'll need to enter the unique 'key' which your advisor has been sent relating to the committee and country you have decided to represent on the MyMUN page. If you already have an account on the site all you need to do is click "add key" on your MyMUN page to associate yourself with your 2009 assignment.

A note on how we decide which schools get which countries

Once a large number of schools have signed up for the conference the senior MUN people get together and decide on which countries should be represented, based on the issues being debated, spread, and current affairs. Then Security Council countries are randomly allocated to the schools which requested them. Finally, GA-only countries are allocated. The process is entirely random, and allocations are drawn out of a hat.
